Blue Line Logistics has developed and operates a logistical platform for the transport of palletized goods consisting of logistical hubs combined with small inland waterway vessels/barges, called Pallet Shuttle Barges or PSB’s. This results in an efficient and flexible logistical model, similar to road haulage, applied to inland navigation.

The Blue Line Logistics concept gives a response to the road congestion in area’s served by inland waterways. The majority of goods are transported in a palletized form. Road haulage has been organized to respond to this mode of transport. To date, inland waterway transport has not been adapted to this transport mode.

Blue Line Logistics breaks with conventional inland waterway transport and has developed a system that is specifically geared for palletized goods or goods transported in big bags. It can also be adapted for other transports, but this is not the primary objective. Consequently it offers a competitive logistical platform for users of palletized good transport in area’s served by inland waterways. The primary area’s served are Benelux and Northern France. Other area’s are being considered.

Blue Line Logistics is convinced that such a model will attract increasing goods and therefore Blue Line Logistics is an active agent in the inter-modal transport shift.
